Modern Setra touring coach with a historic example.
Hermann Hock GmbH from Steinfeld is celebrating two anniversaries with the new Setra touring coach. The family business took over the S 516 HDH in time for its 70th anniversary next year. At the same time, the Setra brand celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2026.
The exterior design of the high‑deck touring coach is based on a Setra S 12 from the historic 10 model series. The historic vehicle has been owned by the enterprise for 20 years and continues to be used for special events.
Comfort for 51 passengers.
The Setra S 516 HDH is equipped with a glass roof and offers 51 passengers a seat with adjustable comfort head restraints. Among other things, the new touring coach will be used for trips in the company’s own travel programme across Europe. His first trip took him to Tuscany and the island of Elba with a group of travellers.
MirrorCam and 360‑degree cameras for a clear view.
The three‑axle vehicle has the latest driver assistance and safety systems currently offered by Daimler Buses. These include 360‑degree cameras and the MirrorCam. The camera system replaces the conventional outside mirrors and extends the driver’s field of vision through the windows. Residual light enhancement improves visibility to the rear in the dark. The images from the heated cameras are transmitted to 15‑inch monitors.
Quality, safety and travel comfort.
For Managing Director Franz Hock, in addition to the safety features, the high vehicle quality and the continuous technical further development speak for Setra. In his opinion, the brand succeeds in setting new technical standards with each model series while maintaining its original claim: to make travel comfortable.
42 Setra touring coaches in Hermann Hock’s fleet.
Hermann Hock GmbH was founded in 1957 with the takeover of the Goldstein bus company. The family‑owned company took over its first new touring coach in 1960 with a Setra S 10 of the 10 model series. Today, 42 Setra vehicles belong to the fleet of the company based in the district of Main‑Spessart northwest of Würzburg.
75 years of Setra: from the S 8 to the TopClass.
75 years ago, Setra presented the first self‑supporting touring coach with the S 8. The presentation in 1951 marked the beginning of the Setra success story. Over the past 75 years, the brand has helped shape and further develop European bus construction with six model series.
The brand’s recipe for success includes continuous further development in the areas of vehicle technology, quality, comfort, safety, design and profitability.
