Whether it's a concert, congress or sports event: when VIPs travel around Paris, Standing Paris is there – with a fleet that sets standards. The Setra has been Managing Director Selçuk Sinan's vehicle of choice for years. The new S 517 HD is an impressive combination of brand awareness, comfort and safety.
A Setra as a flagship.
Summer in Paris: A deep black Setra S 517 HD drives through the city and turns in the direction of Champs‑Élysées. On the side, a stylised gold-colour Eiffel Tower shines in the sun. Tourists stop, smartphones click. But there's one thing they don't see: sitting inside are guests who prefer to travel unnoticed.
The elegant touring coach is the new flagship of Standing Paris, the bus company that has long become the epitome of exclusivity in Paris. It joins a fleet that has already driven no small number of prominent personalities through the French capital. Microsoft founder Bill Gates, ex‑Beatle Paul McCartney, footballer Neymar, American National Basketball League professionals and White House delegations have all chosen Standing Paris’ service – often accompanied by a police escort in front of and behind the bus.
“In Paris, it’s very difficult to be punctual with a coach. But the vast majority of the time, we manage it anyway!”
The mission.
Selçuk Sinan, owner and Managing Director since 2016, runs the company with a clear purpose in mind. Since its founding in 1988, Standing Paris has specialised in VIP tours and today focuses entirely on charter services for congresses, corporate, sports and music events as well as exclusive transfers between hotels, restaurants and venues. Its aim: maximum professionalism, discretion and satisfied customers.
It’s not always easy to travel by coach in Paris: no parking spaces for buses, hardly any stops, lots of prohibitions, not to mention all the traffic jams and construction sites. “We're not allowed to wait for our guests in front of hotels or museums”, explains the 48-year-old entrepreneur. Nevertheless, he makes sure that his buses are always on time. Their reliable service has earned him an excellent reputation with events agencies and international customers. “We have been working with most of the agencies and organisers we partner with for years”, says Selçuk.
It's Setra!
In addition to the first-class service, customers from all over the world also love the comfort of the Parisian company’s exclusively equipped buses. Standing's fleet is made up of 80 touring coaches, including a large number of Setra touring coaches. Selçuk Sinan bought his first Setra in 2009 – a touring coach with all-black paintwork. Although it wasn't taken as seriously back then, today it has become a benchmark in design and understatement.
“I bought my first Setra in 2009 – at the time it was one of the first touring coaches with all-black paintwork.”
Since then, the Parisian bus operator has remained loyal to the brand. Why? “Because it's Setra!”, says Sinan. He appreciates the quality and first-class ride comfort. More than anything else, though, a Setra offers configurations and features that he can't find anywhere else. These range from the 10.50-metre-long S 511 HD to the S 531 DT double-decker, from the round seating in the rear to the level floor and the 2+1 seating: everything you need to offer its exclusive international clientèle maximum comfort.
Exclusive ComfortClass S 517 HD for Paris.
Standing Paris recently expanded its fleet with a ComfortClass S 517 HD with exclusive equipment. The VIP bus is 14 metres long and features 2+1 seating with 29 elegant leather armchairs including extendable legrests and generous seat spacing. The new Setra is also equipped with the latest assistance and safety systems. Sideguard Assist 2 and Frontguard Assist for the area in front of the bus in particular help to avoid collisions with cyclists and pedestrians in dense urban traffic. The 360° camera system with a bird’s-eye view, as well as the MirrorCam, provides support with slim camera brackets instead of overhanging integral mirrors.
