The double-decker coaches not only transport commuters on express routes, but also bring tourists and business travellers to their destination safely. Just as easily, the double-decker takes hikers, cyclists and tourists – including their equipment – to their destination. Thanks to its flexible design and adaptability, it provides the ideal conditions for almost any business model and area of application.

Thanks to its seating layout offering a maximum of 93 seats, the Setra S 531 DT is ideal for use on busy routes. The vehicle excels with high levels of travel comfort, both when taking students to and from school each day and when carrying business travellers and tourists. Operators not only have three different seating arrangements to choose from, but also different seating arrangements on the upper and lower decks. On-board Wi-Fi and charging options for mobile devices round off the travel experience and leave nothing to be desired in terms of comfort.

Fast passenger flow in scheduled service is where the S 531 DT shines. Doors at the front and centre, available in different widths, ensure that passengers can get in and out quickly at any time. For maximum flexibility, Setra offers operators two access variants to the upper deck: on the right or left behind the driver in the direction of travel. The position of the stairs on the right has proven to be effective to ensure fast passenger flow in scheduled service, as experience from the long-distance scheduled service sector has shown.

Numerous configuration options literally make the S 531 DT an all-rounder. The vehicle can be equipped with swivelling or folding seats and the installation of a platform is also optional. An interchangeable platform is also available. In the version without a platform, the available space can be used as a special-purpose area, for example for prams.

Different cockpits are available to drivers and, if required, the vehicle offers installation of a mount for a cash register or seat for a guide. For use on long-distance routes, Setra offers a comfortable and functionally equipped water closet with a metal tap and reinforced toilet seat. An additional mirror on the inside door and an electric hand dryer round off the range.

Up to two wheelchair spaces can be planned in the low-floor section on board the Setra S 531 DT to ensure accessible transport in scheduled service. The vehicle features a mobile TriFold folding ramp or an integrated folding ramp at door 2 for barrier-free access. Virtually seamless access to the spacious lavatory for long-distance journeys is a further benefit.

Passengers in the Setra S 531 DT can feel safe in every respect. They receive continuous information during the journey from the destination display in the passenger area – the display is optional and can be removed again at any time. The double-decker is also equipped with modern safety and assistance systems in the scheduled-service version, which help the driver identify hazards early so they can take evasive action.
