**Depending on the installed air conditioning variant: EvoCool Basic, EvoCool Comfort Plus or modular electric air conditioning system and installation of a driver’s workplace air conditioning system
Emergency Brake Assist ABA 6 Plus assists the driver by automatically initiating emergency braking if there is a risk of a rear-end collision with vehicles in front or stationary obstacles. It can also detect moving or stationary pedestrians and cyclists in front of the vehicle. The system can respond with an audible and visual warning as well as automatic partial or maximum full-stop braking.
Active Drive Assist 2 actively supports the driver in maintaining distance and lane by combining various assistance systems. The system can brake and accelerate the vehicle and keep it in lane by means of active steering movements. To this end, it combines the functions of the individual systems in a unique way and thus already enables partially automated driving in all speed ranges.
The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) supports driving stability during critical braking operations and ensures that the vehicle remains steerable. The braking forces acting on the individual wheels are distributed by the ABS so that even in an emergency braking situation no wheel is blocked for any length of time, and the steerability of the bus is largely maintained.
ASR prevents the drive wheels from spinning in two ways. On the one hand, ASR minimises wheel spinning through a measured braking intervention. On the other hand, the torque of the engine is regulated via the "electronic accelerator pedal".
With its innovative profile, the flat blade wiper ensures that the washer fluid is distributed particularly evenly on the windshield. This increases comfort, saves washer fluid and ensures optimum visibility due to the significantly better cleaning performance - and thus ultimately a plus in safety.
Attention Assist (AtAs) 2 is a safety assistance system that can help prevent microsleep. It thus contributes to improved driving safety, particularly on long journeys and when driving at night. The system warns the driver visually and acoustically if it detects typical signs of drowsiness or inattentiveness and prompts the driver to take a break. The warning is issued independently of the legally prescribed driving and rest periods or the functions of the digital tachograph.
The continuous brake limiter (DBL) is a safety system that makes it impossible, for example, to decouple the drivetrain by depressing the clutch pedal when going downhill. DBL constantly monitors the maximum permissible speed of the vehicle. If a vehicle exceeds the maximum permitted speed, e.g. when driving downhill, DBL communicates with the other safety systems.
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) significantly reduces the risk of the vehicle skidding and tipping over by targeted braking of individual wheels or total braking of the vehicle to counteract skidding or tipping of the vehicle within the physical limits.
Exemplary safety even in unforeseen traffic situations - the electropneumatic operating system (EBS) achieves shorter braking distances and less brake wear. The electropneumatic service brake system (EBS) increases road safety by improving braking stability and shortening braking distances.
Starting the vehicle without inserting the key into the ignition lock: the keyless start access system (drive authorization system 4 DAS 4) makes this possible. The electronic vehicle key only needs to be in the area of the cockpit, so it can be conveniently kept in the driver’s pocket. The engine starts by pressing the start button.
The function can be activated or deactivated. The high beams in the headlamps are activated. It is active from a speed of 35 km/h and is automatically deactivated below a speed of 27 km/h. The function adapts to the lighting/brightness of the surroundings (no automatic activation with sufficient street lighting).
The Front Collision Guard offers increased safety in the event of a frontal collision thanks to a cross-section behind which crash elements are located. Their absorber structure converts the impact energy into deformation energy. The cross-section serves as a reliable underride guard. As the driver’s workplace is mounted on a solid frame part, it can be moved completely backwards in the event of a frontal collision and the driver’s protective space is better preserved.
The electronic brake with HOLD function combines easier handling, more comfort and greater safety. When the bus is at a standstill, the vehicle is held by the service brake by pressing the brake pedal beyond a certain point; when moving off, the brake is automatically released again. The function can be deactivated with a pushbutton switch.
The light sensor increases road safety by automatically switching on the low beams depending on the current light conditions and thus improving the visibility of the vehicle.
The correct tyre pressure contributes to driving safety and significantly reduced fuel consumption. Even a tyre inflation pressure set too low by 0.5 bar can increase fuel consumption by up to 5%. The wheel electronics are positioned on the inside of the rim on the valve. The sensors record the data relevant to the tire pressure and forward it to the display instrument.
Low beam and high beam benefit from the outstanding light output of the integral LED headlamps, which also consume significantly less energy than the standard light. They illuminate the roadway widely and precisely. Another safety advantage is the light temperature, which is similar to daylight and makes the eyes less tired. The LED lights impress with their long service life and low degradation (loss of luminosity).
Sideguard Assist 2 is a safety assistance system that supports the driver on both sides in critical turning situations with possibly restricted visibility. The system is intended to help the driver to detect moving obstacles within the system limits and warn the driver in order to avoid critical situations or reduce the consequences of accidents when turning off or when changing lanes.
Active Sideguard Assist 3 monitors the front and side areas of the vehicle and assists in critical turning and lane-changing situations. When turning left, the system detects oncoming traffic and warns of collisions in good time; when turning right, the focus is on objects at the side. If the driver continues to turn despite danger, a stepped warning is issued with active brake application to reduce the danger.
With the aid of a camera system behind the windshield, Lane Keeping Assist SPA detects when the vehicle unintentionally leaves the marked lane. As soon as the vehicle crosses the marking lines, the driver is warned by a noticeable vibration on the corresponding side of the driver’s seat seat surface.
The strength of the bus body is an essential factor for the passive safety of a bus. Their resilience can reduce the consequences of an accident. The high strength of the bus body in our buses is ensured by, among other things, circumferential, weight-optimised ring spans.
The modern MirrorCam system enables a clear and comprehensive view of the road traffic. Equipped with high-resolution cameras, driving safety and the risk of accidents are minimised. The extended field of vision enables the driver to detect pedestrians, cyclists and other road users in the vicinity. This eliminates the blind spot when turning right.
The innovative Traffic Sign Assist offers maximum safety and comfort on the road. Thanks to GPS and camera support, the vehicle speed is continuously compared with the valid traffic rules.
Frontguard Assist is an advanced system that has been specially developed to inform the driver about people in the immediate vicinity of the front of the vehicle and to warn of an imminent accident. Whether moving off or driving slowly (up to 15 km/h), the intelligent assistant can detect potential collisions with unprotected road users.
Active Cross Traffic Assist supports the driver with automatic brake applications for crossing vehicles in the angle range of 65° to 115°. The system works over the entire speed range and supplements existing assistance systems by reacting specifically to crossing vehicles.
