Premium fleet on the French Mediterranean

Littoral Voyages combines unique buses with individual journeys.

For 40 years, Littoral Voyages has been taking travellers to their destinations in style - with a family atmosphere, individual service and premium buses from Setra.

For four decades, the bus company Littoral Voyages from Gigean on the French Mediterranean coast has been offering high-quality bus trips with a personal touch. For this family business, quality and an individual service are at the centre. Since 2010, it has designed each of its Setra premium buses in a different colour.

Family commitment

Passengers travelling with the bus company Littoral Voyages, which is based in Gigean, feel the family atmosphere straight away. The brother-sister duo Jérôme (49) and Sophie (45) Fournier are the second generation to run the family business. Although they take charge of most of the management, their mother Chantal still provides her input too – with a watchful eye and lots of heart. “It has always been my wish that my children would continue to run the business in line with our values – and they're doing that marvellously”, says Chantal Fournier. Her two eldest grandchildren, Dorian and Léa, recently joined the family business to continue the story together. Her youngest grandson, Théo, also shares the same passion for buses as his late grandfather Christian.

Chantal Fournier founded the company in 1985 together with her late husband Christian. He was not only a bus operator, but also a passionate bus driver. “For his entire life, his favourite bus to drive was the Setra", recalls Chantal Fournier. A customer once proposed the name “Littoral Voyages” for the business as a tribute to the Mediterranean coast that it calls home, and so that it could also be distinguished from two other local businesses that also have Fournier in their names.

Trademarks: At Littoral Voyages, every new bus gets painted a different colour.

On the road to success with the Setra.

Today, Littoral Voyages is a solid medium-sized company with a strong focus on group travel, individual travel and personal contact with customers. Ever since they purchased their first new Setra in 1998, the Fournier family has remained loyal to the brand. Today, the coach fleet consists of eight premium buses - mainly Setra ComfortClass and TopClass models.

When it comes to furnishing their coaches, the Fourniers make no compromises. Passengers take their seats on premium Voyage Ambassador series seats with extra-wide seat surfaces, enjoy the comfort of adjustable headrests, centre armrests between each double seat and ample legroom. Passengers can charge their mobile devices at the USB charging sockets. And if all that wasn't enough, a modern infotainment system with touch control, Bluetooth interface and HDMI connection provides entertainment on two HD monitors in the passenger compartment.

A colourful fleet.

A special trademark of Littoral Voyages is that every coach is painted a different colour. “Originally, all our touring coaches were the same shade of grey", explains Chantal Fournier. In the beginning of the 2010s, the Fourniers started the tradition of painting all new vehicles a different colour as a way of announcing to customers that a new vehicle had been added to their fleet. And given that they were buying one new vehicle each year, it wasn't long before the fleet had become truly multicoloured. What colour to paint a new vehicle is the subject of many a long and lively family debate!

The current flagship of the fleet is a bright red Setra TopClass S 516 HDH, which has a panoramic glass roof that floods the passenger compartment with light and enables passengers to get unique views of mountain landscapes and special sights. The blue ComfortClass S 517 HD delivered in June 2025 will soon have company: in 2026, another new Setra touring coach will be added to the fleet – this time in a bold yellow colour. Of course, it will also come with top-class furnishings and will be equipped with MirrorCam.

Travelling safely

The touring coaches at the French company are equipped with all the currently available safety and assistance systems. These include the emergency braking assistant Active Brake Assist and Sideguard Assist, as well as the anticipatory cruise control system PPC, Active Drive Assist 2, 360° camera system and - in the latest Setra S 517 HD - MirrorCam.

A premium workplace: The drivers praise the Setra coaches' operability and modern safety and assistance systems.
