Safety is a top priority for travel operator Voyages Vandivinit. So it’s no wonder that the Setra brand plays a central role in the Luxembourg-based company's fleet.
Success through safety.
Voyages Vandivinit swears by Setra touring coaches with state-of-the-art assistance systems.
Voyages Vandivinit SARL from Mondorf-Ellange in southeast Luxembourg is a family business now run by the third generation. Since the company was established in 1957, they have reliably transported passengers to destinations throughout Europe. The success of Voyages Vandivinit is characterised by its diverse range of activities as a full-service provider for passenger transport in the Luxembourg market. The business is well-established and forward-looking at the same time being built on several cornerstones both in the private transport and local public transport sector.
In this way, the company appeals to a wide range of target groups and can comprehensively meet their specific requirements. Their current range of services includes study trips, long-distance travel, school trips, senior tours, shuttle and rental services, but also cross-border operations in scheduled services as well as event trips, class trips and club excursions.
A state-of-the-art bus and coach fleet guarantees success.
According to CEO Luc Vandivinit, the bus company operates a fleet of more than 170 touring coaches and city buses in Luxembourg alone. These include 48 Setra vehicles, 25 of which meet the Grand Tourism category criteria. “Our purchasing policy is mainly focussed on Setra vehicles. To us, they are synonymous with reliability, quality, durability and safety”, says Director Luc Vandivinit.
Voyages Vandivinit Group employs a 450-strong workforce and operates several subsidiaries in Luxembourg and France who run their own fleets tailored to the respective operational profiles. Today, the group also includes companies Autocars Altmann, Autocars Schidler and travel agencies in Luxembourg and the French border region.
“Safety for customers and drivers is our top priority.”
Uncompromising safety.
“Safety for customers and drivers is our top priority and one on which we would never compromise”, says Luc Vandivinit, summing up the philosophy of the long-established Luxembourg-based company that has been a close partner of Setra since the 1950s. Comfort and TopClass 500 touring coaches are all equipped with the latest safety equipment available on the market.
Five new touring coach highlights from Setra.
Three new Setra ComfortClass 500 high-deckers have been added to the Vandivinit fleet. The first is a 12-metre, two-axle S 515 HD with seats for 44 passengers. The other two are 14-metre, three-axle S 517 HD vehicles, each with 59 touring coach seats. They are employed in the company’s pan-European range of trips and excursions. Luc Vandivinit has also added two S 531 DT TopClass 500 double-decker buses with 78 seats to the company's fleet for larger groups of travellers.
Setra touring coaches and buses are a safety guarantee.
Luc Vandivinit has had the new vehicles equipped with a comprehensive package of state-of-the-art driver assistance systems. The 4th and 5th generation Active Brake Assist and adaptive cruise control (ART) with stop-and-go function are just as much a part of Vandivinit’s standards as GPS-controlled Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC) cruise control, Lane Keeping Assist (SPA), permanently active Sideguard Assist and the Attention Assist system ATAS. A video monitoring system informs the driver of all processes in the passenger compartment so that they can intervene quickly in an emergency or administer first aid, for example.
Active Drive Assist 2 and 360° camera system.
Voyages Vandivinit is particularly impressed by two brand-new safety systems as they greatly relieve and support the driver. One important safety feature is the new Active Drive Assist 2 in which all assistance systems work hand in hand. The systems actively support each other when accelerating, braking, keeping the vehicle in lane and keeping a safe distance. The system makes continuous steering interventions to keep the vehicle centred in its lane. This makes it possible to employ partially automated driving in all speed ranges for the first time.
Four cameras at the front, rear and above the side windows ensure even greater safety in all five touring coaches. They seamlessly capture the entire vehicle surroundings and generate an indirect 360° bird’s-eye view. Thanks to the integrated washing system, the rear camera always remains clean and provides a clear view to the rear at all times. This is an essential safety factor, especially when manoeuvring and reversing.
OMNIplus services supplement the safety package.
The safety package that meets the stringent demands of Voyages Vandivinit also includes a wide range of OMNIplus services that maximise the vehicles' operational safety. Passengers can be assured that the vehicles are perfectly maintained and in technically flawless condition, fulfilling a further important safety aspect.
For example, all five new vehicles are equipped with Bus Data Centre, which enables OMNIplus ON connectivity services to be used. Once the busy summer travelling season is over, OMNIplus DriverTraining courses will move to the top of the priority list at Voyages Vandivinit.
Voyages Vandivinit performs vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, bodywork and repair work in three company workshops in Luxembourg and France. The workshop at the company headquarters in Ellange is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The company also uses the mobile OMNIplus 24 h Service.
If a vehicle breaks down anywhere in Europe but far away from the in-house workshop, this service reliably guarantees rapid breakdown assistance around the clock and the vehicle will be repaired in an OMNIplus service centre nearby. If the repairs will take a long time, the service even includes providing a replacement vehicle from the AddressPool. This means that passengers can be sure they will be able to continue their journey whatever happens – a truly comprehensive travel guarantee .
