Addicted to Setra.

We have found them: those people who have Setra running through their veins. Setra is beside them not only professionally but also privately: in their living rooms or hobby rooms, as collectors, connoisseurs and aficionados.

For Setra's 70th anniversary, we wanted to know how they live and love Setra and celebrate our shared passion with them! We received many photos demonstrating what Setra means to them. We present these contributions here on our website and on our Daimler Buses social media channels. To thank them for their years of loyalty, love and passion, we celebrate them, our biggest fans, on our anniversary!

On the island of Rügen, which is spoiled with sunshine, the S 415-GT-HD beams with the sun.

What a great place - the emotions cannot be described. - says Thomas P., sitting in the Setra vintage S 8. He took this opportunity during the Setra Show 2018 in Neu-Ulm.

Two times two generations: Father and son next to the vehicle generations from the 300 and 400 series. Setra plays an important role in the family business and in the family of T. P., who fell in love with the brand as soon as he bought his first Setra.

setratruelove

There is magic in all beginnings. The journey began with this S 208 HM: the first Setra for Geert Slingerland.

setratruelove

The fourth Setra in the fleet. Many more Setra buses were to follow the S 217.

setratruelove

With every farewell comes the anticipation of the next reunion.

setratruelove

Geert Slingerland: "I've been a big Setra fan since childhood. Setra is not only in my heart but also is my vehicle of choice: there is nothing better."

setratruelove

The great love of his life is his wife Tiny. They have been together for 49 years, 47 of them married. "I picked her up at the bus station," Geert says proudly.

The highlight for children at fairs in the 50s and 60s: the carousel ride in the Setra.

"When J.M. first saw his future S 6, it seemed to say, ""Please take me and breathe new life into me"".

That was it…love at first sight!"

setratruelove

Who wouldn't want to sit here themselves and drive through the countryside in this gem.

setratruelove

The heart of this Setra can really be seen - as if it had just left the factory.

setratruelove
setratruelove

For J.M. from Greece, his lovingly restored S 6 is his "baby".

setratruelove

The engine demonstrates how much love and time J.M. has spent on his coach.

setratruelove

The love of old vehicles, especially Setra coaches, started very early for J.M. His father already owned a Setra in 1957.

setratruelove

With a lot of care and great attention to detail, the S 6 now shines like new.

setratruelove

This bus is made up of 100% original parts, even down to the smallest screw.

setratruelove

J.M. even has a trailer for his Setra S 6 - in matching Käßbohrer design, of course.

That's enthusiasm. Around the globe with Setra. AF lives that. He was and is on the road a lot with Setra.

Arthur is convinced: There is nothing better than celebrating with Setra.

setratruelove

Often on the road with his mistress. There's plenty to see, not only for J. H., but also for the little dachshund who loves looking around.

setratruelove

Arriving on the bus. Jola finds it very interesting and cosy in the Setra vintage bus.

setratruelove

On the way to the old town of Ulm: the legendary Kässbohrerhaus under a bright blue sky.

setratruelove

D. J. immediately supplied the appropriate quotation from Confucius: Roads were made for journeys, not for destinations. One can only underline that. The importance of the journey itself and everything around it has great significance.

This Belgian's passion for collecting all things Setra began in 1979.

setratruelove

Didier's collection ranges from model buses to SetraWorld, technical books, clothing and gadgets.

setratruelove

He starts with the livery design. This will be the same for both the actual coach and the model coach - one of D.D's hobbies.

The Belgian invested 80 hours constructing this model of the S 431 DT, made of resin, car paint and vinyls.

Didier from Belgium is passionate about model coach building.

The Setra S 9, YOC. 1959 from the classic coach collection is in pristine condition – as demonstrated by a recent trip to EvoBus Belgium. In honour of Setra’s 70 years jubilee, this classic coach sports an anniversary livery.

setratruelove

Being a true Setra-Fan, J.K. immediately spotted the vaccine bus in Ulm/Neu-Ulm during the Culture-Night Event. She took this photo at the beautiful Petrus Square.

setratruelove

A real eye-catcher: this elegant Setra S 531 DT is pictured against an historic brick façade. The double-decker coach from De Meibloem in Belgium was sent to us by T. V.

setratruelove

Lambert-Reisen also has a great classic coach. Who wouldn't want to board the Setra S 6, built in 1959, after seeing this photo?

STEWA Touristik can look back on almost 90 years of history. Starting out as a car dealership, the family business quickly embraced the love of travel, which it still shares with its guests today.

setratruelove

1976: STEWA Touristik celebrates its 50th anniversary and proudly presents the STEWA fleet as part of the festivities.

setratruelove

The stewa Touristik coach fleet is expanded in 1977 with three high-deckers. The Setra S 215 HD are equipped with on-board toilets, among other things.

setratruelove

Ever-expanding, the love for coach travel endures as does the loyalty to the SETRA brand.  In 1981, STEWA Touristik decided to offer coach tours with on-board service.

This branded sugar cube is approximately 28 years old and was handed out in the Karl Kaessbohrer's factory canteen. For all these years it has been carefully stored by K.H.

setratruelove

Anniversaries have also been celebrated in the past. This glass mug was made for the 75th anniversary of Kaessbohrer.

setratruelove

M. A. shows us his remarkable Kaessbohrer and Setra collection, which is presented beautifully behind protective glass.

setratruelove

This Setra S 11, Bj. 1959 is still in regular use. H.T. from Zuid Netherland Reizen B.V. from the Netherlands is the proud owner of this very unique coach since 2010.

setratruelove

For G. K. it is simply a lovely coach belonging to Felder-Reisen from Austria. Here it is on the unique St. Peter's Square in Rome.

setratruelove

It's a Setra! From Poland, D. K. sends us this photo with the coach that is so unique to him. A S 517 HDH owned by Sindbad.

P. L. from Belgium sends us his picture: Setra in front of the castle of Ordingen

setratruelove

For the first time behind the wheel of a Setra. And then of a very beautiful classic, the Setra S 9. An unforgettable experience for C. V..

setratruelove

Setra at BusWord. For us as the organizing team for international trade fairs, it is always a very special and enjoyable task to bring the fascination of Setra to life for our customers and fans.

setratruelove

From childhood on, L. D. was accompanied by the Setra enthusiasm of half her relatives. Naturally, this was contagious, and she never misses an issue of SetraWorld.

setratruelove

A wonderful childhood memory for Yves L. from France. The Setra S 215 SL in 2000 is one of his favorite buses and for him also the memory of many wonderful trips in Setra buses.

setratruelove
setratruelove

Supervision of the Kässbohrer Museum, the Kässbohrer Showroom with the historic vehicle collection and the Setra brand archive. All this falls within the remit of Sabine H., who is always a Setra enthusiast.

setratruelove

Here the music plays: the Opera House Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and the S 531 DT combine an artistic and majestic design.

setratruelove

Passion for basketball meets passion for Setra. J.K. will be thrilled when his two sons ride on this great coach at some point in their basketball careers.

setratruelove

K.B. shows off his jewelry, which he is still very proud of as a professional Setra S 516 HDH driver. Through many trips in the S 213, S 211, S 328 DT, S 415 HDH vehicles, to name but a few, Setra has grown close to his heart.

setratruelove

A colorful selection of photos reaches us from the Netherlands. As a true Setra fan, the brand is not only present in Shandro’s living room, he has also experienced it up close during various visits to the plant in Neu-Ulm.

setratruelove
setratruelove

Large numbers come from Z. G. from the United States: Arrow Stage Lines has been in business for over 92 years. The Setra buses move 1,500,000 passengers every year over 30,000 journeys.

setratruelove

Love that gets under your skin. Alberto is always on the road with his S 517 HDH. He shows us his Setra passion in the form of his tattoo.  His passion for Setra is shown by his tattoo.

setratruelove

Give up your enthusiasm for Setra at the factory gate? For D. P., after more than 40 years with the company, there’s no question at all.

setratruelove

Passion in gold. Not only does former employee Erika H horde the Setra wall calendar Colours but also treasures a few books.

setratruelove

Let's change the game! Claudia B. drives and lives Change and Setra is of course part of the big milestone of change.

setratruelove
setratruelove

Anselmo from Spain shows us that not only is the view through the Setra’s panoramic glass roof phenomenal, but also the view inside is pretty worthwhile too.

setratruelove

The ship's christening is widely known but there is also the bus’ baptism. Rosabus celebrated the emotional bus baptism of its new Setra with panoramic roof at the international trade fair FITUR in January 2020.

setratruelove

As a passenger on a Carolus Primatours trip, the great passion was ignited. G.C.'s absolute favourite among the Setra buses is the S 531 DT.

setratruelove

Original and unique. Rosabus sent a very quirky Christmas greeting with the graffiti on its Setra.

setratruelove

Office work on the bus. This is what Rosabus' enthusiastic Setra team looks like during "HAPPY WORK DAY" in Spain (before the pandemic).

setratruelove
setratruelove

"Passion + ambition + perseverance = excellence". This is how A. Y. describes the photo he submitted.

No matter, which ear or "look", J.K. always keeps the flag flying high for his favorite brand.

setratruelove

J.K has created his own little Setra collection.

setratruelove

Could there be a better view of this panorama? Mr. M. on the road in his favorite bus, the S 8.

setratruelove

Some things never leave you. Pictured here is M.G.’s first encounter with a Setra S 215H in 1980. The Setra brand has accompanied him to this day and his enthusiasm for it has not diminished.

setratruelove
setratruelove

Always on the look-out for Setra vehicles, M.B recently spotted what is probably the most fascinating test centre.  Where testing is taking place today, artists and rock stars used to be “at home” touring to their next concert!

setratruelove

No, not just some models on the wall. It is "a journey through time of the Setra series", which M. W. has on display in his home. Of course, he has also witnessed and accompanied the development almost right from the beginning.

setratruelove

Bike tour of a special kind. To collect his new S 516 HD, M. B. arrived by bicycle. He peddled almost 900 kilometers to pick up his first S 516 HD in Neu-Ulm.

setratruelove

2005, vacation in the USA. In Utah, M. K. next to an S 6 that even has the approval of SETRA UTAH. For the long-standing EvoBus France employee, this was a very special experience and a wonderful memory.

setratruelove

First used for his own wedding. Over 25 years ago C. S. bought and lovingly restored this S 80, built in 1973. Ever since and to this day, it has been used for family trips and weddings. The connection and loyalty to Setra buses lives on.

setratruelove

The enthusiasm for Setra is even recognizable on their little daughter's body grow. M. B. is very proud of Setra and has worked in various areas and positions at EvoBus since his apprenticeship in 1999 until today.

setratruelove

Always a touch of Setra on board.  When he changed jobs from bus to car, P. H. received this key ring as a farewell gift, it always accompanies him when he takes the convertible for a spin.

setratruelove

Anyone can make a snowman, but who has a snow bus in his garden? J. F. and his family also carry the torch for Setra in the winter months and have built an S 515 HDH out of vast quantities of compacted snow.

setratruelove

Yankee Line converted their Setra TopClass buses into mobile vaccination units, creating a comfortable, clean environment for medical staff and patients. 20,000 vaccinations could thus be administered on the east coast of the USA.

setratruelove

"Fritz", the Setra S 80 (built 1968) is not only part of U. Sch.'s family but also the fulfilment of his life's dream. Even as a young boy, he wanted to become a bus driver, but ONLY on a Setra.

setratruelove

W. M. with a photo showing him as a 15-year-old in front of his favourite model, the S 8. He discovered his love for buses as a child with his aunt, who ran a bus company, followed by an apprenticeship at Kässbohrer and from then on, his passion for Setra never left him.
