Front Collision Guard (FCG)

With the FCG, we provide the greatest possible coach safety available today, especially for drivers and attendants. The underride guard comprises a cross-profile which redirects impact to the absorber structure, thus reducing the danger of running over another road user. The FCG's absorber structure takes control over collision dynamics, transforming them into distortion energy, minimising distortion in the front area and protecting key vehicle systems. In fact, this state-of-the-art safety system exceeds known guidelines and specifications. The cockpit is positioned on a moving structure which pushes backwards in the event of an accident. The driver is thus moved away from the greatest danger zone, significantly enhancing coach safety.

The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®)

The ESP® feature brings us a step closer to preventing accidents through technological innovations and ensuring the highest possible safety. In long curves or during fast lane changes, ESP® prevents the vehicle from skidding. ESP® regulates braking force in each of the wheels, pulls back on engine performance and monitoring lateral acceleration, while automatically reducing speed until vehicle stability has been regained.

With the help of a video camera, SPA increases safety in the coach by recognising the lane at a distance between 5 and 30 meters from the front of the vehicle. Lane Assist is automatically activated beginning with a driving speed of 70 km/h, while permanently monitoring the coach side's distance to lane markings every 30 milliseconds. As soon as the vehicle threatens to cross over lane markings to the left or right, a vibration alarm is activated in either the left or the right side of the driver's seat, allowing him to instinctively correct the situation.

Maintenance-free, failsafe LED indicators ensure maximum safety in the coach. Litronic headlights enable optimised road illumination even in bad weather conditions.

The Adaptive Cruise Control, or ART feature, automatically controls the coach's distance to other vehicles travelling ahead.

ART performs ongoing assessment of distance, angle and relative speed of vehicles ahead within a distance of 150 m. Should the distance reduce to a level that is too low, it activates automatic braking - with minimal brake wear and fuel consumption. As soon as the required distance is reached again, the vehicle accelerates automatically to its original speed. ART: safety that is always a step ahead.

When driving downhill, the DBL features ensures wear-free, sustained-action braking through interruption of fuel injection and, as required, the automatic activation of the retarder. The speed is effectively stabilised. DBL prevents vehicle acceleration beyond a maximum speed of 100 km/h, ensuring enhanced safety in the coach.

ABA is a radar-controlled automatic emergency braking feature, which can prevent collisions thanks to a complex multi-phased system.

If a collision threatens, a visual and acoustic signal is transmitted. Should the driver not react, the system initiates partial and then full braking.
